| Jazz Atmosphere |
Jazz Atmosphere® is the collective name under which various ensembles perform, led by pianist Claude Alexander. The groups specialise in elegant, classic-modern jazz suited to special occasions, whether formal or informal. The ambience we create is yours to define and this can range from a gentle background, as for a special personal or business event, to the intense presence required for a listening concert. In addition to jazz, other types of music and performers are available, such as harpist, string soloist or ensemble, pop band and DJ. First-class references and more detailed info can be viewed - and clips from our CD can be heard - on our website, www.jazzatmosphere.co.uk. The jazz repertoire consists of the enduring standards of the 1920s through 1950s and familiar Latin jazz tunes. When suitable, tunes from the progressive ‘bop’ eras may be used. In addition, to make our performance particularly meaningful, you can request specific songs, including culturally traditional ones. Typically, appropriate recorded music is provided during breaks. Although the CD features both a trio and quintet, the size of the band and types of instrumentalist are yours to choose. The price per musician per hour for one-off, private entertainment normally ranges from £45 to £65, while in-public and charity rates can be less. We look forward to serving and playing for you. |

Reviewed by Frances Eaton, 2006-07-17 Claude organised his band to play jazz for my daughter`s wedding last August. They had to move inside as the weather disintegrated and it rained, but they were unfazed! The music was wonderful- a group of high calibre musicians playing standards. It really helped to make events go with a swing. My 90 year old father got up and danced!
