ISRAELI DANCING FROM AROUND THE WORLD
Are you curious about dance? Do you enjoy moving to music?
Then browse through this site and find out about how Israeli dance has developed from a traditional folk dance done only in Israel, into a global modern music and dance experience for everyone, whatever their background. It works because the music is based on world music themes of every type.
Israeli dancing also known as IFD (Israeli Folk Dancing) and also known as Israeli Harkada, is very different to simcha dancing (traditional jewish dance done at weddings), examples of which can be found elsewhere.
You will find in our galleries lots of photos of people having fun with dance (which we think is the whole point) and here you can see some photos from an excellent european club site. You can join just by clicking on the photos and following the instructions

The music you should be hearing on most of the pages on this site, is normal Israeli dance music from the internet radio station Harkada.com You will hear a vast range of tracks, some of which have elements of traditional sounds but most follow the Israeli pop and alternative scene. That's why a good part of what we dance too, is linked to world music.
